7.4.4 Feed entry categories

The following categories may be communicated in the XML element called //entry/category:

  • MetadataUpdate indicates that the metadata describing the relevant release and its associated resource file(s) is being updated and that such an update relates to the metadata describing the release and/or resources;

  • ResourceUpdate indicates that at least one resource of the relevant release is being updated;

  • DealUpdate indicates that at least one deal relating to the relevant release is being updated; and

  • Takedown indicates that the relevant release is being globally taken down.

It is permitted to communicate multiple categories but each one should be in a separate category element.
