7.4.2 Feed links

Atom feed entries should be in the feed sequentially, that is the oldest entry should be at the top and the latest addition should be at the bottom. A record company or distributor may, however, add and remove entries at its own discretion.

The number of entry composites in the Atom feed is not prescribed by this part of the ERN standard. The record company or distributor publishing the web service may, however, want to set a maximum number of entries in the feed in collaboration with its DSP business partner(s).

The following link types can be communicated in the XML attributes //feed/link/@rel:

• Self provides the URL of the feed itself;

• Next provides the URL to the next feed "page", in those cases where there is more than one feed page available to the DSP; and

• Previous provides the URL to the previous feed "page", in those cases where there is more than one feed page available to the DSP.
